Theaters Struggling For Four Weeks!

In Tollywood, there is currently something of a void. Custody, which was released on May 12 of last month, was the most recently produced movie with a prominent hero. The last four weeks have seen the release of films like Anni Manchi Sakunamule, Bichagadu 2, 2018, Malli Pelli, Mem Famous, Men Too, Pareshan, Ahimsa, Nenu Student Sir, Takkar, Unstoppable, and Vimanam, but none of them were able to draw sizable crowds to the theatres.
Only Bichagadu attracted a sizable audience, and 2018 was successful in bringing in some respectable box office figures. These two flicks likewise ended abruptly. Mem Famous had little of an effect on the box office and generated more buzz off-screen than on-screen. Theatres are nearly empty due to the lack of films, since this week's releases of Takkar, Unstoppable, and Vimanam all failed to make any money at the box office and brought in next to nothing. These factors have left a void, and theatre owners are concerned about operating their establishments without patrons. Now that Adipurush has been released, all eyes are on it.
With so many expensive star-hero films released during the summer, the box office typically reaches its high. If we take the two COVID years out of the equation, this summer has been the worst yet. The distributors and exhibitors are expecting that the release of Adipurush will put an end to the dry spell at the theatres, which have been sporting a disappointing look for many weeks at this point.
