Gopichand: Time For Some Strict Introspection

G GOWTHAM
With the release of films like Ranam, Lakshyam, Shouryam, and Loukyam, Gopichand became a popular commercial hero. But for the last few years, he hasn't produced even one excellent, commercially successful movie. His star power has been damaged by films like Soukhyam, Pantham, Chanakya, Pakka Commercial, and recently Rama Banam.

There was just one average fare, and that was Seetimaarr. Gopichand's subject selection is highly flawed, and it shows. He continues to believe that family- or mass-oriented screenplays are effective today just as they were a decade ago. He needs to adapt to the prevailing trends and change. He must venture outside of his comfort zone and explore other genres.

Back in 2013, Gopichand himself tried a "different" idea similar to Sahasam. Despite its poor box office performance, the movie is nevertheless regarded as a success. Gopichand has the skills and potential to make engaging and fun films. He only needs to select scripts that are daring, thrilling, and appealing to the public of today, which has significantly changed over the past few years. If Gopichand keeps choosing films like Ramabanam, not only will his box office value decline, but so will his satellite and internet markets.
