Highest grossing hindi film in Brahmastra South breaks this record

Just as South indian movies dubbed in hindi garner the love of the North indian audiences, can hindi movies dubbed in tamil, telugu, or other South indian languages do a strong business? Attempts to find an answer to this question have been going on in hindi cinema for the past decade. The first big step in this direction was taken by his father producer-director rakesh roshan in superstar Hrithik Roshan's superhero film 'Krrish 3'.

After this film, Hrithik Roshan's other film 'War' was also released along with hindi dubbed into South indian languages. Aamir Khan's film 'Dangal' and sushant singh Rajput's film 'MS dhoni The Untold Story have also tried these efforts. 'Krrish 3' did its first South blast

The story of Krish, the first superhero promoted in hindi cinema, begins with the film 'Koi Mil Gaya'. After this, the film 'Krrish 2' and the film 'Krrish 3' also did a great job at the box office. Producer-director rakesh roshan of this franchise decided to take the expansion of a superhero to South india for the first time. Released in the year 2013, the film 'Krish 3' was dubbed and released in hindi as well as tamil and Telugu. The film, which made a total business of Rs 244.05 crore at the domestic box office, did a business of Rs 231.79 crore in hindi, Rs 7.74 crore in telugu, and Rs 4.58 crore in Tamil. Overall, the film 'Krrish 3' earned Rs 12.32 crore in both the major languages of South India.

'Dangal' also landed in South's arena

Three years after the film 'Krrish 3', Aamir Khan's film 'Dangal' and sushant singh Rajput's film 'MS dhoni The Untold Story were also dubbed into South indian languages. The film 'Dangal' did a total business of Rs 387.38 crore at the domestic box office. The hindi version of the film then collected Rs 374.43 crore, the tamil version Rs 11.81 crore, and the telugu version Rs 1.14 crore.

South's record was in the name of 'War'

Hrithik roshan is one of the few stars in hindi cinema who has a fan following across the country. Seeing the success of the film 'Krrish 3' in South india, three years ago Aditya Chopra, the director of yash Raj Films and producer of Hrithik's film 'War', released the film by dubbing it in hindi as well as tamil and Telugu. The film did a business of Rs 318.01 crore at the domestic box office.

The hindi version of the film then earned Rs 303.34 crore, the tamil version Rs 3.58 crore, and the telugu version Rs 11.09 crore. In this way, the total earnings of the film 'War' in South indian languages was Rs 14.67 crore. Till the release of the film 'Brahmastra Part One: shiva, this was the biggest record for a hindi film to be released in South indian languages with the release.

This is how 'Brahmastra' became number one

Now the film 'Brahmastra Part One: shiva, which was released on september 9 this year, has re-opened the doors of South for hindi cinema. The film earned around Rs 215.50 crore at the domestic box office till the 10th day of its release. The film 'Brahmastra Part One: shiva broke the record of the highest-grossing film 'War' so far in South indian languages in the first week itself. The film collected Rs 173.22 crore at the domestic box office in the first week.

Surrey weekend collection

The earlier films that were released in South indian languages, whose business is mentioned here, were all in theaters for six to eight weeks. It has been only 10 days since the release of the film 'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva'. The film has done good business on the second weekend as well. The film collected Rs 10.60 crore at the domestic box office on the second Friday, Rs 15.38 crore on the second Saturday, and around Rs 16.30 crore as per the opening figures of the second Sunday.

The total domestic box office collection of the film has been Rs 215.50 crore. The South indian versions of the film have seen a dip in the second weekend and the film has collected around Rs 1.58 crore in the last three days. The film's collection till the second weekend in South indian languages has been around Rs 18.40 crore.
