The telugu box office saw three major small-budget films queue up to theatres the other day. And while all three films tried their hardest to make an impression, only one of them managed to do so. And here's how it all went down. To begin with, Suma's Jayamma Panchayathi is relying heavily on publicity, with many of Tollywood's biggest stars joining the film's publicity team. Many people promoted the picture in various ways, from pawan kalyan to Nani, yet nothing worked well for suma at theatres. The picture hasn't gotten much attention because the substance appears to be pale and slow.
Cut to another picture, Bhala Tandanana, starring sri vishnu and catherine Tresa, which received a lot of attention after rrr founder SS rajamouli gave a speech in which he said the film is fantastic. Despite the excitement, the film fails to connect because the substance is as bland, ordinary, and devoid of rationale as possible.
Then there's Vishwaksen, who hit all the right notes with his hoax video and tv9 episode, resulting in massive exposure for his film Ashoka Vanamlo arjuna Kalyanam. Despite the fact that the film is slow and only works with a small demographic, it received a big response in terms of footfalls on Day 1. Clearly, this is the result of a brilliant marketing strategy.
