In maharashtra, the price of one kg of chicken has fallen to Rs 60 in the last 15 days, from Rs 115 earlier. Similarly, in the state of Jharkhand, a kg of chicken is currently being sold for just Rs 50. What is the reason for this sudden change..? What is the reason for the sudden increase in the price of meat and eggs? As the month of shravan arrives in North India, many people have adopted the habit of giving up eating meat. Due to this, the demand for chicken and eggs has decreased and the price has decreased. Due to this, people who depend only on the meat trade are affected more and more.
Prices of meat and eggs also increased especially during the food price hike in June. Due to this, the people were unable to buy due to the increase in prices. Due to this, the weight of the chickens has also increased due to widespread rains.
As a result, poultry farm owners are forced to sell chickens. And this price is not the retail price, but the purchase price from the farm.
But because most of the northern indian states are offering to avoid eating non-vegetarian food like chickens and eggs through the month of Shravan, which started from July 15, the price of meat has come down to a great extent, according to Vasantakumar Shetty, a senior official of Poultry Breeders Association of India.
Also, egg prices have come down by 30-35 percent in many North indian states. But in tamil Nadu, a kg of chicken is sold for between 180 and 220 rupees.
