Are you a pani puri lover? A warning to you! Food safety officials have discovered that your favorite pani puri contains cancer-causing chemicals.


These officials said that 22 percent of pani puri samples collected from karnataka state were not of sufficient safety standards. Of the 260 samples they collected, 41 samples were found to contain artificial colorings and carcinogenic effects. Another 18 samples are unfit for human consumption.


The Food Safety Department has received many complaints about the quality of pani puri sold on roadsides in karnataka state. So we collected samples of pani puri from all the street stalls to fancy restaurants in the state. Many of these were unfit for human consumption and spoiled. Apart from thatchemicals like Brilliant Blue, Sunset Yellow, andTartrasine were also present in these pani puri samples. It can cause various health problems, says Commissioner Srinivas.


Rhodamine-B banned in Karnataka.

Earlier this year, the karnataka government announced a ban on food coloring, Rhodamine-B. karnataka health minister Dinesh Kundu Rao has already issued a stern warning against restaurants using this chemical. We make it a priority to ensure that food sold across the state is hygienic and safe. The minister also said that we are going to examine many foods to find out what kind of colorants are used.


Restaurant owners also have a responsibility to maintain food hygiene. This government will not hesitate to take strict action against those who violate this. The minister also said that the public should be very careful about what food we eat and whether it is safe to eat.

This rhodamine-B dye is applied to water as a coating, usually to determine the amount and direction of the current. It is fluorescent and can be detected with a fluorometer.
