Spiritualism course to be launched by IGNOU by August
Sources have stated that in association with the Swaminarayan Sansthan, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is planning to introduce courses in spiritualism and moral education from August this year.
Meanwhile the organization’s centres in India as well as abroad will cater as study centres for IGNOU. In a statement released, the vice-chancellor of IGNOU, Ravindra Kumar said, "The varsity is mulling to establish a Swaminarayan Chair at its campus, and start value education and spiritualism programs by August 2017."
He said the collaboration will make all the centres
of Swaminarayan Sansthan in India and in abroad IGNOU study and exam centres
for the programs" and the syllabus for the course 'Pracheen Bhartiya
Sabhyata Aivam Sanskriti' is also in the final stage of approval, he said.
"We look forward to teach today's generation the rich culture and values
of India," a representative from the Swaminarayan Sansthan added in the
release.
According to the IGNOU official website, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.
