The 8th continent that has been mysterious for 375 years..!?
Scientists have discovered the eighth continent 'Zealandia', which has been submerged under the sea for about 375 years. If asked how many continents there are in the world, most people will answer only 7. Apart from Asia, Africa, North America, South America, antarctica, Europe, and Australia, would you believe that there is an 8th continent? Yes, there is, is the answer from the scientific world. The eighth continent that has been submerged under the ocean for 375 years: Scientists have discovered the eighth continent 'Zealandia', which has been submerged under the sea for about 375 years. Geologists have mapped a new continent with an area of two million (20 lahks) square miles based on data obtained from seafloor rock samples. This new map is meant to answer various questions raised about 'Zealandia'. Highlighting its unique history. About 83 million (830 lakh) years ago, a large landmass called Gondwana, known as the supercontinent, broke apart due to several geological factors. The broken-up parts formed the 7 continents. Apart from that, 'Zealandia' also came into existence. However, 94 percent of its land area is submerged in the sea. The remaining 6 percent of the land area is present-day new zealand and its surrounding islands. As it is located under the sea, 'Celandia' could not be explored. Due to this, many mysteries regarding its shape and structure persist.
Scientists Breaking Mysteries:
To put an end to these mysteries, international geologists and seismologists have studied rock and sediment samples from the sea floor and offshore islands and published the current map of 'Zealandia'. An accurate map of 'Zealandia' with seismic survey data has amazed everyone. According to the study, there is a geological zone where the Earth's tectonic plates collide near the Campbell Plateau on the west coast of New Zealand. However, no change in the magnitude of the magnetic field was detected in the rocks present there. Scientists say the Campbell Magnetic System formed when the Gondwana tectonic plate broke apart. Later, ocean regions are said to have formed under 'Ceylandia'. Until 250 million years ago, tectonic plates collided on the margin of 'Zealandia'. This was revealed by examining chemical compositions and geological traces. That area is now the Campbell Plateau.
Research results that surprise geologists:

The researchers say that Zealandia and antarctica have undergone significant metamorphosis. About 83 million years ago, Zealandia/West antarctica and Antarctica/Australia broke apart, flooding the Tasman Sea. Then, in the late Cretaceous period, approximately 79 million years ago, Zealandia and West antarctica separated, forming the Pacific Ocean. Like West antarctica, how the crust of Celandia thinned significantly before it split apart has puzzled geologists. Researchers have found a lot of evidence of the rifting and extension of the landmass between 100 and 80 million years ago. The existence of an 8th continent has not yet been officially announced. It is important to note that only after other scientists confirm the research information, it will be officially announced.
