National Freedom Day: American history & Black history Month!!!

Every year in America, 1 february is celebrated as National Freedom Day. On this day the resolution of the Senate and the house of Representatives was signed by President Abraham Lincoln in the year 1865. 

National Freedom Day was established to promote goodwill, justice, equality, and end slavery. This day is very important for the American people. Freedom means freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from slavery and inequality. Major richard Robert Wright was instrumental in the establishment of the National Freedom Day Association.


President Lincoln signed an amendment outlawing slavery on february 1, 1865. The first National Freedom Day was celebrated in Philadelphia. President Harry Truman signed the bill on june 30, 1948, declaring february 1 as the official National Freedom Day. National Freedom Day is celebrated on 1 february every year in America since 1948. This day is a symbol of freedom from slavery and equality.


Black history Month is celebrated in february because Frederick Douglass and President Abraham Lincoln were born in this month. Woodson is called the father of black history for his work. barack obama was elected the first African-American President of the united states in 2008.
