In amar Colony of Jyoti nagar police station area of North-East Delhi, protesting against illegal parking charges proved so costly for a person that he had to pay for it with his life. The extortionists beat the man so brutally that he lost his life. The deceased was identified as Soni Kataria (32). He lived with his parents and two brothers in amar Colony and worked temporarily in the Ministry of Education. The police have arrested 4 miscreants in the case, while the police are raiding various places in search of two accused.
There was an argument when he refused to pay parking charges
According to the information received from DCP Joy Tirkey, Soni Kataria left home on the night of september 1 saying that he was going to a party on his friend Kale's birthday. Kale used to run an illegal parking in amar Colony itself. Kataria went with him in the car, which they parked in an illegal parking and went to celebrate the birthday party.
When he was about to take out his car after the party, some people came to him and started demanding parking charges from him and Kale, claiming to be parking attendants. Kataria was well aware that they were not parking attendants, so he refused to pay the parking charges. There was an argument between them, after which they all left from there. Kale also left in his car, while Soni Kataria started walking towards his house. During this, when he reached near Gokalpur, 6 people surrounded him and beat him with rods, hammers, sticks and fled from there thinking him to be dead.

The DCP said that Soni Kataria, in a seriously injured condition, called his family members and told them about his condition, after which his family members took him to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. On being informed about the incident by the family members, the local police also reached the hospital. Where the injured Soni Kataria, who was undergoing treatment, informed the police about the entire incident. In this case, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the indian Judicial Code and started investigation.
