Major Reforms On USA Visas - TCS, Wipro, Infosys in Danger?

G GOWTHAM
With Trump's return, indian IT behemoths are preparing for any legislative changes. This might involve significant changes to H-1B visas that could negatively impact their business operations. This was hinted at during Trump's previous administration, when more stringent regulations caused a sharp increase in the number of work visa rejections. Although the intention was to preserve American jobs, indian businesses suffered as a result.

The $250 billion indian IT sector, which employs more than five million people, may see major disruptions even this time. Other corporations and smaller businesses can take a serious slap in the data-face of HCL and other large players who are less reliant on H-1B labor. trump recently called the H-1B policy a “great program” that is bringing hope to the community. In the meantime, Elon Musk, a trump supporter and current advisor, changed his mind about the initiative after previously endorsing it.

As a result, indian skilled labor is surrounded with ambiguity and skepticism. Community-wide repercussions might result from even small policy changes. The best course of action for large corporations would be to adjust to the new regulations going forward and hire more local workers. The fate of the sizable indian workforce that would suffer as a result, however, is uncertain.
