 The start time of the 2025 IPL mega auction has been changed. The 2025 IPL mega auction is to be held in Jeddah, saudi arabia on november 24 and 25. It was announced that the auction will start at 3 pm indian time. Now, there has been a slight change in the start time of the IPL auction. Accordingly, the IPL mega auction will start at 3.30 pm on november 24 and 25. The main reason for this time change is the ongoing Test series between india and Australia. india and australia are playing their first match. The third and fourth days of this Test match will be played on november 24 and 25. The playing time of this Test match will end at 2:50 pm according to indian time.
Sometimes, if the umpires and captains agree, extra time will be bowled. If that happens, the match of that day may end after 3 pm. If that happens, it will not be possible to telecast this Test match when the IPL auction starts. Star sports TV has the license to telecast the India-Australia Test match and the IPL auction on television. If it is not possible to telecast the last few overs of the India-Australia match, it will also cause problems with the broadcasting contract. Therefore, Hotstar had been pressuring the bcci to change the start time of the IPL auction.
