Condolences are pouring in from all over india for his demise. ratan tata was born in 1937 to Nawal Tata-Sunu couple. He completed his college education at Harvard University. Later he joined IBM. However, he returned to india after a few years. He started his career in 1962 as a casual worker in his family company Tata Group. He later succeeded in the 1970s at National Radio and Electronics, a subsidiary started by the Tata Group.
After holding various positions in succession, he was appointed as the Chairman of Tata Sons in 1991. Under his leadership, Tata industries executed several major contracts. He was the Chairman of the Tata Group from 1990 to 2012. During his tenure as chairman, the group's revenue grew sharply, reaching $100 billion in 2011-12. He then became the acting chairman from october 2016 to february 2017. He has received the Padma bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, India's second and third highest civilian awards, Carnegie Medal for Merit, and Honorary Citizen status from the government of Singapore.
Ratan Tata has been instrumental in the growth of Tata Consultancy services into one of India's top IT companies. ratan tata was one of the most powerful businessmen in India. Due to old age, ratan tata (86) was suffering from health problems from time to time. However, due to high blood pressure, he fell ill and was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai. Doctors were giving him intensive care. Meanwhile, ratan tata passed away a little while ago as it was reported that his health was very critical. The film industry and political leaders are condoling his death.
