Center’s 15,000 Crore To Amaravati - Eenadu Clarifies

G GOWTHAM
The other day, Union financing minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared in the Budget that several development financing organisations will be providing amaravati with a sum of 15,000 crore. The opposition claims that the state can't utilise these since they are only loans. eenadu clarified the situation in a statement. While the $15,000 crore loan is a fact, the state won't be burdened by it. On loans from organisations such as the World bank, interest rates are negligible. There is also a longer moratorium period (due date) for loan repayment.

Even if the monies are being provided by the central government in the form of a loan, they are not a hardship because the loan has a 30-year repayment period. The loans are likewise guaranteed by the national government. For the state government, there is no issue because the loan does not fall within FRBM. In the meantime, Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance minister, announced the project's matching funding at a press conference.

Every project that receives funding from the World bank or other comparable organisations requires additional funding from the state government. According to her, the federal government would provide the matching funding in the form of a loan or grant if the state government was unable to do so. Thus, the Centre will probably continue to support this research. In the meantime, Amaravati's Jungle Clearance projects are moving quickly forward. Resuming construction can happen in four to five months.
