Chaos! 'Indian' started streaming on Netflix

Digital media is full of tales about how the over-the-top (OTT) sector has effectively and significantly affected the theatre industry. Recently, barely 14 days after its premiere, Vishwan Sen's "Gangs of Godavari" made its way into OTT. Suddenly, uncertainty has arisen due to a snapshot of "Indian" that was shown on Netflix the following Monday.

The message seems to be about the recently released film "Indian 2," which confuses first. It's more about appearances, as films that get bad reviews frequently end up on OTT services. But "Indian 2" will never be available on OTT this quickly. It has been made worse by the misunderstanding the screenshot and Netflix's timing have created.

Netflix ought to have made the first installment available before "Indian 2" was published. Announcing it now looks like an attempt to capitalize on the "Indian" brand, especially in light of the negative reviews for "Indian 2." Given that this is not the first time, it is somewhat surprising that the entire team was unable to evaluate this important factor. It is a follow-up to the first installment that was released in 1996, and rather than trying several amusing comedy looks on the iconic actor, they might have just done the same makeup.
