Etihad to pay Rs 1.1L for cancelled Hyderabad-Dubai-New York flight
Etihad has been ordered to repay the total money plus 9% interest from the date of cancellation to the present, along with an extra Rs 20,000 in compensation. They have 45 days starting on june 27 to comply, failing which they would be subject to an additional 3% interest charge. Additionally, Rs 10,000 was requested to cover legal fees.
The complaint stated that the airlines did not reimburse or reschedule the tickets after the flights were cancelled, even though they were contacted many times. Etihad asserted, however, that the complaint contacted them far later than the extended deadline of march 2022—in July 2021.
