As the Jagadambika temple in golconda Fort is the venue of the Bonalu festival, which is scheduled to start on July 7, the telangana government is probably going to declare the day off for the event. The Bonalu holiday in telangana is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, 2024, according to the telangana State Portal Calendar. The day is included in the list of "General Holidays."

According to the Hindu calendar, Bonalu starts with the month of "Ashada," which honors the goddess Mahankali. To commemorate Bonalu, followers, particularly ladies, present food to goddesses in pots with elaborate decorations in hyderabad and other areas of Telangana.

The month-long Bonalu festival takes place in three stages in hyderabad each year. Lashkar Bonalu, which takes place in the ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad, will take place after golconda Bonalu.
Sri Akkanna Madanna Mahankali temple in Haribowli, Hyderabad's ancient city, and Sri Simhavahini Mahankali temple in Lal Darwaza serve as the celebrations' final destinations.

After the first ceremony, on Thursday, July 11, there will be a second pooja at golconda, and on Sunday, July 14, there will be a third. There will be further poojas on July 18, 21, 25, and 28, in addition to august 1 and 4.

It is widely accepted that the event was originally observed more than 150 years ago, in the wake of a significant cholera outbreak. people started sacrificing Bonalu to appease Mahankali since they thought it was the cause of the outbreak.
