Playing 'an empowered woman' on screen is not merely an artistic decision for actress Nayanthara; it's also a personal mission to raise the voices of those who are silenced, according to the actor, who has frequently portrayed strong female roles in her films. The 75th movie that the actor appeared in was "Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food."

“Portraying empowered women who choose to defy social stigmas is not just a creative choice but also a personal commitment to amplifying voices that are often overlooked or silenced,” Nayanthara said while speaking to GQ in a recent interview. The actor's name was mentioned in the magazine's list of 'Most Influential Young indians of 2024'. Several people criticised the actor's movie "Annapoorani," calling it "anti-Hindu." Netflix then took the movie out of its collection.

The movie is about Annapoorani (played by Nayanthara), who is from Srirangam, tamil Nadu, and comes from a traditional Brahmin family. Her goal is to become one of India's best chefs. She encounters challenges, though, as she must choose between her morals and her emotions. She ventures beyond of her comfort zone and starts eating meat with the help of her classmate Farhan (played by Jai). In Atlee's "Jawan," Nayanthara debuted in bollywood alongside Shah Rukh Khan the previous year. The moviegoers like her portrayal of a tough police officer.
