In the rishikesh district of Uttarakhand, two visitors washed away in the ganga River on Sunday. The police reported that a search and rescue operation was in progress to locate the tourists. Eight young people from the National capital Region arrived at Mast ram Baba ganga Ghat in lakshman Jhula on sunday to spend the weekend, according to police station authorities in lakshman Jhula. Two party members were washed away in the ganga while taking a bath in the Pauri Garhwal district near lakshman Jhula.

According to Saini, sakshi Kumari, a 39-year-old group member from Sector-74, noida, too lost consciousness after slipping in the ganga while taking a bath. He added the cops had brought her to a neighboring hospital.

He added that Chahat (27), Ankur Anand, Shreya (17), Naman (19), and Anupriya (20) were among the other group members and that they were all from the NCR Delhi-UP area. The mission to locate the two tourists has been given to a team consisting of specialized deep divers and inspector ravindra Sajwan of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). In addition to deploying the SDRF-Jal police squad, police have intensified patrolling around sensitive ghats due to the high volume of tourists in and around the Haridwar-Rishikesh area.
