Rathnam Movie Review - Tamil Cinema Sinks Further

SIBY JEYYA
Mallika, a young lady preparing for the NEET test, is encountered by Rathnam (Vishal), a go-between for an mla (Samuthirakani). He saves her one day when she is the target of thugs who want to assassinate her. For no other reason than that mallika resembles his late mother Ranganayaki, and Rathnam feels compelled to protect her.

Thanks to Lingam, a strong leader who built a college on Mallika's family's land in tamil Nadu, they are having problems. For the rest of the movie, the focus is on Rathnam's unwavering pursuit of learning Mallika's true identity and past, as well as the truth about his mother.
Except the "Singham" and "Yamudu" series, mainstream tamil films directed by hari are unsuitable for viewers of reasonable intelligence. hari hasn't changed; he has only repeated his action movie formula. Vishal's latest film, "Rathnam," is simply one more in his extensive resume of roles.

Hero meets a heroine and learns that she is being pursued by several criminals; he must protect her by engaging in a variety of pursuit maneuvers. Many of Hari's films are based on this model. The heroine in the majority of his films is in love with him, but until the conclusion of the tale, the hero is reluctant to embrace her love for a variety of reasons. "Rathnam" is the same, exactly.

The main difference is that in "Rathnam", the hero does not try to accept the heroine's proposal because she resembles his deceased mother. But he pursues her and does everything a boy who is enamored by a girl would do. Why? He gives this answer: “Oka ammayiki problem vaste kukke arustundi… Lakshyam kosam hatyalu chese rowdilamu memu…ela oorukuntam.”
One is compelled to identify the problems when the fun is absent. After a while, the second half gets monotonous since it is all action and very little drama. The film drags on at the very end when the editors might have cut it down. The major actors are supposed to be experiencing a distinct emotion, yet the story isn't conveyed effectively. It is difficult to relate because of this one mood throughout the entire movie. There were a few scenes where the humor clicked, but yogi babu isn't used to his full potential. There isn't much for murali Sharma to do.

Overall, tamil Cinema's Curse in 2024 continues!
