On Wednesday, march 27, the jubilee hills police detained naresh, a data entry operator at the camp office of former health minister Harish Rao, along with three other people, suspected of stealing checks from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF).

A farmer from Peerla Thanda, Abenda, medak named Patloth ravi nayak made a complaint, which led to the arrest. nayak related an event that happened in november 2022 in which his wife Lalitha Bai, while working in their fields, was bitten by a snake and died.

On november 6, 2022, she passed away despite great attempts to preserve her life, which included care at balaji Hospital in sangareddy and then at Wellness Hospital in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.

Nayak had to pay a substantial sum of Rs. 5 lakhs for his wife's medical care. Nayak, who was having financial difficulties, applied to the cm Relief Fund in january 2023. But despite his continuous efforts to find out the status of his application, he never heard back.

Only lately, after visiting the TS secretariat and asking questions concerning the CMRF, did nayak find out that two checks totaling Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 37,500 had been written out in his name.

After more research, it was discovered that the former health minister's office contracted naresh Kumar to enter data and distribute checks to recipients on the state government's behalf.

Nayak said that naresh Kumar did not respond to his attempts to retrieve the checks in a satisfactory manner. Later on, it came to light that naresh Kumar had reportedly given the checks to auto driver Korlapati Vamshi and Assemblygoer Balagoni venkatesh Goud in exchange for a fee.

Without notifying nayak, Vamshi and venkatesh cashed their checks at the sbi Road No. 5 jubilee hills Branch with the help of Omkar from Godavarikhani.

Nayak filed a police report after seeing that several other recipients had experienced similar outcomes.

Based on Nayak’s complaint, a case has been registered under sections 417, 419, 420, 120(b) read with 34 of the indian Penal Code, as well as sections 66(B) and 66(C) of the Information technology Act.
