IMF in displeasure at cash-trapped Pakistan..?!
Pakistan is humiliated by lying to the IMF. Due to this, pakistan has to bow down at the international level again. A new regime has taken over after the recent elections in Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif has come to power for the second time at the mercy of the pakistan Army. Pakistan's military, which operates as a totalitarian system, is struggling to deal with poverty and financial conditions. They are forced to resort to lies to hide the deteriorating situation. But not understanding that 'even if you tell a lie, you have to tell it appropriately'. Reports of Pakistan's borrowing have also appeared in Pakistani newspapers. An article by GEO news, a popular Pakistani media outlet, mentions that the IMF has condemned the government of pakistan during a meeting with the international Monetary Fund team. The fact that a foreign group in Islamabad insulted the government in that country and the Pakistani government could not do anything about it is an example of how bad the situation in pakistan has become. What happened then? Let's find out. A team from the international Monetary Fund is in Islamabad for talks ahead of the release of USD 1.1 billion, the final tranche of the $3 billion bailout fund agreed by the IMF last year.
However, pakistan has announced that it has achieved all the structural benchmarks and indicative targets ahead of the talks. The IMF has expressed its displeasure over this. IMF's Nathan Porter and his team expressed their displeasure to pakistan as to how they could make this statement without talking to them. A decision in this regard will be taken only after the international Monetary Fund team analyzes the official data of various sectors of the national economy, but the international Monetary Fund has now questioned how the report could be released in such haste, raising fears for pakistan that it could lead to problems in borrowing.
A day before talks with the IMF, pakistan issued a formal press release claiming that Islamabad had met all IMF targets. The press release said it had completed all structural standards and other targets before receiving fresh assistance from the international Monetary Fund. In an article published in Pakistan's The news international, it was mentioned that the international Monetary Fund had reprimanded Pakistan's Ministry of Finance for meeting the target. It is to be noted that the IMF team will remain in pakistan till march 18. Now, Islamabad has been forced to accept whatever conditions a disgruntled IMF team imposes on the loan.
