Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a new assault on congress leader rahul gandhi following a viral video in which the latter seems to give a dog's biscuit to a fan after the animal refused to eat it, sparking a quarrel. rahul gandhi is seen caressing a dog in a video shared by Bharat Jodo Nyay yatra on their X account while on a yatra in Jharkhand. In the video, rahul gandhi requests a packet of biscuits and is seen offering one to the dog.
At that point, other people approached the gandhi scion to chat to him and snap photographs. However, the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra's video does not show rahul gandhi delivering a dog biscuit to a follower. In a viral video shared by Himanta Biswa Sarma, rahul gandhi seems to give a cookie to a man that the dog did not finish, prompting the bjp to accuse the congress leader of mistreating his fans.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was once affiliated with the congress, insulted rahul gandhi, claiming that he and his family could not force him to "eat the biscuit". "I am a proud Assamese and Indian. I refused to eat and resigned from congress," he explained.
Himanta Biswa Sarma has frequently described a previous event in which he stated that during a meeting with rahul gandhi, the latter's pet dog, Pidi, was given biscuits off a dish, which were subsequently served to the congress politicians present.
The assam chief minister has used this tale to challenge rahul Gandhi's commitment to party concerns, citing it as one of the reasons for his resignation from the Congress. Earlier, Himanta Biswa Sarma and rahul gandhi were involved in a war of words over the assam leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay yatra last month.
