12 children and 2 teachers died in a boat accident...

During a school picnic on thursday in Vadodara's Harni Lake, a boat capdata-sized, killing at least 12 students between the ages of 10 and 13 as well as two teachers. The boat could have accommodated 16 people, but according to the authorities, at the time of the event, it was occupied by 34 people (30 students and 4 professors). Following the capdata-size, two teachers and eighteen students were saved. Rescue efforts were impeded, according to the NDRF, by the sludge at the lake's bottom. As part of a school picnic, the pupils from New Sunrise school reportedly arrived at the location on thursday at around 430 p.m. and boarded the boat. According to accounts, the excursion included sixty pupils in total.

At 4:30 p.m., the kids arrived at the lake and boarded the boat with their teachers in tow. Even a two- to three-minute underwater delay can be fatal in the case of a kid drowning, according to Dr. sheetal Mistry, head of the VMC standing committee. Following a beautifying project in 2016, a private business named Kotia Projects entered into a Public-Private Partnership agreement with the vadodara Municipal Corporation to operate the boating facility at Harni Lake, known as Lake Zone.

Two people have been taken into custody, according to the police, including the facility manager. Under IPC Sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 308 (attempt to culpable homicide), and 337 (rash or negligent act endangering human life), a formal complaint was filed against M/s Kotia Projects at the Harni police station.
