It is observed as makar sankranti in various regions. In tamil Nadu, we celebrate it as pongal, but in other parts of the world, it's known as Magh bihu or Lohri," the governor stated.

We honor this day by giving the Gods the first harvest as a sign of gratitude. We appreciate them providing us with a bountiful and high-quality crop. The fact that every nation celebrates the event in a different way at the same time adds to the beauty of our nation," he continued.
