According to health Minister Fahrettin Koca, turkey aims to remove some wounded or sick Gazan children and young adults on friday as part of its third wave of evacuation. So far, turkey has transported 150 people from Gaza to continue their treatment, largely cancer patients and their partners. This week, it has also evacuated over 100 Turks, Turkish Cypriots, and their family.
Koca stated at Ankara's Esenboga airport on thursday that three ill Gazan youngsters had been transferred to Turkey. He went on to say that the children, a 2-year-old boy and two girls aged 9 and 10, will be treated in Turkey. The third batch of evacuations, consisting of 50 persons, has been delayed owing to complications with authorization for their release, according to the minister, but those issues have now been substantially resolved and authorities are working to finalize the preparations.
"We expect the third evacuation to be tomorrow (Friday) and it will be an evacuation that will largely consist of children and young people," he told reporters.
"There are fewer cancer patients (in the group), but it will be a mostly wounded children and young people evacuation," he added, adding that none of the 50 persons on the list were in serious condition.
Ankara has dispatched 800 metric tonnes of humanitarian goods, medical supplies, medicine, and medical professionals to egypt to help of Gaza residents. It has stated that it intends to establish a field hospital on the Gaza side of the Rafah crossing. Koca stated on thursday that a coordinating mechanism made up of Turkish, Egyptian, and Israeli officials was trying to find an appropriate location for the field hospital.
"A team coordinated by Israel, egypt, and turkey is in egypt, specifically to conduct field work." "We're in the process of determining a location," he explained. "We want to take action as soon as possible."
A group of 100 Turks and their family landed in egypt from Gaza on thursday and were scheduled to fly to Istanbul on friday, according to a Turkish embassy source. According to the individual, Ankara expects to remove additional residents from Gaza on Friday.
