The two leading candidates for Karnataka's next chief minister, Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, are anticipated in New delhi on Monday, a day after the state congress passed a resolution approving the selection of the cm by the party's national president mallikarjun Kharge. All like-minded parties are welcome to the chief minister's swearing-in, which will take place on May 18.


Siddaramaiah could travel to the capital delhi if mallikarjun Kharge succeeds in getting the top job moved to delhi along with Shivakumar.

Next CM:

On DK Shivakumar's birthday (May 15), mallikarjun Kharge would meet with former chief minister Siddaramaiah and the karnataka congress president. Shivakumar shared a photo of himself with Siddaramaiah and other party members on sunday night as they were celebrating his birthday. "I commit my life to aiding the individuals of Karnataka. The people of karnataka gave me the nicest birthday present imaginable on the eve of my birthday. I appreciate the kind words from my congress family, Shivakumar chirped.

With the initiative now in Kharge's hands, the leading candidates are also anticipated to see sonia and rahul gandhi in the capital. The congress Legislature party (CLP), which met on sunday evening in a posh Bengaluru hotel, voted a one-line resolution allowing Kharge to choose the party's leader to be the next chief minister of Karnataka. KC Venugopal, the organization's general secretary for the AICC, and three central observers were present at the CLP meeting.
