The sports minister has accepted the demand of the players to remove Brij bhushan from the post of president till the completion of the investigation. He said, till the completion of the investigation, a committee will also look after the day-to-day functioning of the wrestling federation. 


Wrestlers end strike, no decision yet on FIR

After anurag thakur announced the formation of the Oversight Committee, the wrestlers called off their strike. Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia announced this. He said Union minister anurag thakur has assured of the investigation. It has also been explained to all the players. That's why we players are calling off our agitation because we are confident that we will get justice. Although the players have not opened their cards regarding their second demand i.e. registration of FIR against Brij Bhushan. 

Inquiry committee

Earlier, the wrestlers had also requested indian Olympic Association President PT usha to intervene in the matter. After this, the IOA called a meeting, in which after a discussion of about one and a half hours, it was announced to constitute a 7-member inquiry committee. Mary Kom has been made the chairman of this inquiry committee, while she is accompanied by Olympian archer Dola Banerjee, Alaknanda Ashok, Olympic medalist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, President of indian Weightlifting Association Sahdev Yadav and two lawyers.
