Shattering Stereotypes..!Kerala's first female ambulance driver!
State health Minister Veena George presented her with the keys of the ambulance today. Deepamol has been appointed as Kerala's first female ambulance driver. She began her career today to mark international Women's Day. She has been hired as an ambulance driver under the kerala State health Department's accident Treatment Program - KANIV 108 (Kerala Ambulance Network for Injured Victims). Newly hired Deepamol is an experienced driver from the kottayam district in the state of Kerala. She has many years of experience driving various vehicles. Deepamal obtained her driver's license in 2008 and her license to drive heavy vehicles in 2009. She also runs a small driving school. In 2021, she set a record by riding her two-wheeler from kottayam to Ladakh in 16 days. She participated in the off-road driving competition held in thrissur and won.
Minister Veena George said that Female drivers will be appointed in many districts. The government has taken steps to recruit interested women, focusing on the need for women to be involved in all fields. Such activities can break down the stereotypes that have been held about women for a long time.
