Foreign Padmas': Aren’t Padma awards only for Indians?
India's highest civilian honours, which is popularly called the Padma awards are divided into three classes: Padma Vibhushan, padma shri, and Padma Bhushan. india has never been partial to Non-Indian citizens, they are also honoured because these are India's highest civilian awards.
According to current data, the Padma awards have been bestowed on over 1270 people, including more than 24 posthumous recipients and more than 97 non-citizens. The prime minister of india appoints the Padma Awards Committee each year.
