Last night, a BBC anchor criticised India's moon plan and said that the nation should instead concentrate on eradicating poverty. According to the anchor, there are 7 million poor people in india, and the government should spend money on things like healthcare and education rather than on space exploration.

The mahindra Group's chairman, anand mahindra, tweeted in response to the BBC anchor's remarks. He said that decades of colonial control were to blame for India's poverty and that the nation had a right to seek space exploration as a means of regaining its pride and self-confidence.

Mahindra stated that colonization's aim is to persuade its victims of their inferiority. "Spending money on both toilets and space travel is not in conflict. Going to the moon helps us regain our pride and confidence, which is what it does for us. It fosters faith in scientific advancement. He stated, "It gives us the desire to pull ourselves out of poverty.  Social media users rapidly disseminated Mahindra's remarks and expressed their agreement with them. They said that india has a right to pursue space exploration and that doing so does not imply that the poor are being neglected.
