James Gunn Helped Shape Guardians' Roles In Thor: Love & Thunder

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor 4 will be released. Thor, who had become depressed after failing to kill Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, left to travel with the Guardians of the Galaxy in Endgame, and Valkyrie was crowned king of New Asgard. Thor (Chris Pratt) and the other Guardians assist Thor in his quest for inner peace in the trailer for love and Thunder, which was recently published. This hint to the Guardians of the Galaxy's position in Thor: love and Thunder sparked speculation about whether Gunn was involved in writing the script for the future Thor feature.

Gunn gave a little answer to this question this week. Gunn said that he helped design the Guardians' roles in Thor: love and Thunder while responding more fan queries on social media. "I requested for some things to be modified, and they were adjusted," Gunn said in response to a query about how much impact he had on Thor 4's script.

Gunn doesn't say how much he thought needed to be changed in love and Thunder, or whether it was dialogue or something else, but his rapid answer suggests that the changes were little. It's also plausible that Gunn's two future MCU projects, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, prompted the minor changes. Given that neither project is complete, and GOTG3 is still filming, Gunn may have required to double-check that no minor detail from the Guardians' responsibilities in Thor: love and Thunder conflicted with what he had planned for his projects.
