Operation Ganga: 16 thousand students evacuated!!!


'Operation Ganga' is being run to bring back the indian citizens trapped amid the Ukraine-Russia war. On sunday, the central government said that so far 76 flights have brought back more than 15920 indians under Operation Ganga. Out of these 76 flights, 13 flights have landed in the last 24 hours.



Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia tweeted, We have successfully evacuated more than 15,920 students through 76 flights. Scindia gave detailed information about these flights.

Romania - 6680 (31 flights)

Poland - 2822 (13 flights)

Hungary - 5300 (26 flights)

Slovakia - 1118 (6 flights)


Here, Union minister Hardeep Singh puri said, yesterday about 5,200 indian citizens were returned home. Today about 889 are returning to their homeland. We are operating the last phase of OperationGanga flights today. Efforts are on to evacuate indian students from Sumy, Ukraine, he said. 


PM Modi said, India's growing influence

Prime minister Narendra Modi on sunday spoke about India's growing influence in the global arena for the success of Operation ganga to rescue civilians trapped in war-torn Ukraine. He said that while the big countries of the world are finding it difficult to expel their people from Ukraine, due to the growing influence of india, we have brought back thousands of students to their motherland.

Harjot will return without a passport

Indian national Harjot Singh was injured in a bullet injury in Kyiv and his passport was also lost. Union minister General (Retd) VK Singh tweeted Harjot Singh will return to india by tomorrow.
