As technology advances, traditional SIM cards are being overshadowed by the adoption of eSIM cards, especially in the wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital age, offering enhanced privacy and security features. While a relatively small number of people in india currently use eSIMs, their popularity is gradually increasing, with major telecom companies providing eSIM services. apple has long supported eSIM functionality in iPhones, and it is now available on certain Android smartphones.

However, transferring eSIMs between Android devices has posed challenges, requiring manual processes involving text messages. google aims to simplify this process with the introduction of an eSIM transfer option in Android 14, initially limited to Pixel devices but now extending to other Android phones. Reports indicate that users have observed the eSIM transfer option on devices such as the lg V60 ThinQ and samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, allowing transfers between Galaxy phones and google Pixel devices.

Initially, Samsung's One UI 5.1 update only permitted eSIM transfers between samsung phones, but recent updates, particularly the One UI 6.1 update, have expanded this feature to non-Galaxy users. To execute the transfer, users need to scan the QR code from the old phone with the new one. The activation process completes the eSIM transfer, and users can continue using the SIM card on the old device until the process concludes. This development data-aligns with Google's announcement of the eSIM transfer tool at MWC 2023, indicating a gradual expansion of this feature to a broader range of devices beyond Pixel and samsung models.
