Thailand Open: Satwik-Chirag will now face the Chinese Taipei pair

Thailand Open: India's brilliant performance in the doubles category, Satwik-Chirag, and Tanisha-Ashwini reached the semi-finals.



The indian pair ranked third in the world rankings, registered an easy 21-7, 21-14 win over Arif and Yap in the quarter-finals of this Super 500 tournament. Indian doubles pairs performed brilliantly in the thailand Open badminton tournament and won their respective matches. India's top men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty booked their place in the semi-finals with a straight games win over Malaysia's Junaidhi Arif and Roy king Yap at the thailand Open.

The pair had to work hard for one hour and 16 minutes to get a 21-15, 21-23, 21-19 win over sixth-seeded South Korean pair of Lee Yoo Lim and Shen Seung Chan. In the semi-finals, the indian women's pair will data-face top-seeded Thailand's Jongkolphan Kititharakul and ravindra Prajongjai.


Mairaba's journey ends

While india was successful in the doubles category, the brilliant journey of young indian shuttler Mairaba Luwang Maisnam came to an end. He lost 12-21, 5-21 to fourth seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand. Mairaba, after pulling off an upset win over compatriot HS Prannoy, defeated Denmark's Mads Christophersen 21-14, 22-20 in the second round of men's singles.
