As per report rajasthan Royals (RR) captain steve smith is prepping for the IPL 2020 but also has his eyes set on Australia's upcoming tour of England. Keeping the series in mind steve smith is hoping that his RR teammates in the england side will "reserve" their performances for the cash-rich league and not give it their all against Australia. Notably, england stars ben stokes, Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer all play for the rajasthan based franchise and are an integral part of it.
It has been reported that Australia's 3-match ODI and T20I series against england will commence from september 4 and will end 4 days before the start of IPL, which is expected to kick start from september 19. steve smith also added the matches against england could come handy in terms of warming up for IPL, which will be played in uae, a completely different condition and climate for the Australian players. ‘I will be playing against a few of my rajasthan teammates in the series (the trio of ben stokes, Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer) and hopefully, my teammates in england shouldn’t score too many runs or take too many wickets against us. They should rather reserve it for the IPL.
IPL 2020 which was originally scheduled to kick off from march 29 but postponed indefinitely by bcci in april because of the rapidly increasing coronavirus cases in the country, has found a September-November window after ICC postponed the 2020 t20 World Cup.
IPL chairman Brijesh patel has already confirmed that indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will be held across all 3 venues in the United Arab Emirates dubai, Abu Dhabi and sharjah from september 19 to november 8, subject to the approval of the indian government.
IPL's Governing Council will meet on august 2 to give a final shape to the schedule and other arrangements for the eagerly-awaited t20 showpiece. All the eight franchises will get a clear picture of the tournament's modalities during the meeting.
