Amarnath Yatra 2026: Starting from July 3, Know the Complete Details

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has officially announced the schedule for the Amarnath yatra 2026, one of India’s most important Hindu pilgrimages to the holy amarnath Cave in Jammu & Kashmir.

📅 Amarnath yatra 2026 Start and End Dates

  • 🗓️ Start Date: 3 July 2026
  • 🗓️ End Date: 28 august 2026
  • Duration: Around 57 days
👉 The pilgrimage will take place during the holy month of Shravan, when the natural ice Shivling is formed inside the cave.

📝 Registration Details

  • 📌 Registration starts: 15 april 2026
  • 🌐 Available via:
    • Online (SASB official website)
    • Offline (designated bank branches across India)
👉 Over 550 bank branches are expected to support registration.

🧾 Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the yatra, pilgrims must:

  • 👤 Be 13 to 70 years of age
  • 🏥 Carry a Compulsory health Certificate (CHC)
  • 🧍 Be physically fit for high-altitude trekking
👉 CHC must be issued after a specific date and signed by authorized doctors.

🛣️ Routes for the Yatra

There are two main trekking routes:

🏔️ 1. pahalgam Route

  • Longer but more traditional
  • Gradual ascent, preferred by many pilgrims
🏔️ 2. Baltal Route

  • Shorter but steeper
  • Faster return option

Authorities will provide:
