Bengaluru Authorities Crack Down on Wastage.!
These families were fined Rs. 5,000 each for misusing drinking water for activities such as gardening and car washing. The Bengaluru Water Board has confirmed that a total of Rs. 1.1 lakh in fines was collected from these families, with the majority stemming from the southern region of the city.
In light of the ongoing water shortage, the Water Supply Board has issued further instructions and warnings, urging residents to use drinking water sparingly. Specifically, they have advised against using drinking water for non-essential purposes such as washing cars, bikes, organizing entertainment events, or construction activities. Violators will data-face fines initially, with subsequent fines increasing by Rs. 500 for each offense.
These measures underscore the urgent need for water conservation and responsible usage, emphasizing the collective responsibility of residents in addressing the water scarcity issue in Bengaluru.
