Moscow blaze kills fire fighters


Blaze at a warehouse in Eastern Moscow, killed 8 Russian fire fighters as they were battling fire. Officials discovered their bodies after they lost contact with them when they went to estinguish the huge blaze  at a plastics depot on the edge of the Russian capital.


Syrian army launches fierce air strikes


Syrian army backed by Russia launched fierce air strikes on rebel held areas of Aleppo after they declared an offensive to capture the biggest city. This fresh offensive killed cease fire plea from U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to halt flights to resurrect peace. 


Pak warn India against asylum to Bugti


Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned India against giving Baloch leader Brahamdagh Bugti,  President and founder of Baloch Republican Party asylum in the country. He tweeted “India granting asylum to Bugti will amount to harbouring a terrorist by a state...thus [India] becoming official sponsor of terrorism,” This came aftre Bugti applied seeking political asylum and Home Ministry is examining it. 


S.Korea rules out flood aid to N.Korea


South Korea rejected  International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)'s appeal on Wednesday for $15.5 million in emergency funding to help North Koreans. Ruling out aid it said eader Kim Jong-Un would claim credit for any assistance following what Pyongyang calls the "worst disaster" since World War II.


Russian forces land in Pak for joint military exercises


Russian forces landed in Pakistan to hold first ever joint military exercises from Saturday. This comes as shock for India as couple of days back reports came that Russa cancelled military exercise in the wake of terrorist attack on Uri, Jammu and Kashmir,India. "A contingent of Russian ground forces arrived Pakistan for first ever Pak- Russian joint exercise," tweeted Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, the director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

India-France ink Rafel deal


India and France on Friday concluded an Inter-Governmental Agreement for the purchase of 36 Rafale fighter jets to cost the nation Euro 7.87 billion.The signing was concluded at Hyderabad house in the presence of Defence minister Manohar Parrikar along with his French counterpart Jean Yves Le Drian.


Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha admitted in hospital


Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha was admitted in Apollo Hospitals after she suffered from fever and dehydration.Apollo Hospitals in a press release stated Ms. Jayalalithaa was “stable and under observation”. It added the Chief Minister has no fever and she is taking her diet. It further added that she is under observation.


Furious SC finally agrees to hear to Sahara chief's plea


Supreme Court which turned furious due to some alleged intemperate remarks of Sahara counsel and senior advocate Rajeev Dhawan, agreed to reconsider the bail plea of Subrata Roy after it terminated the “interim arrangements” of granting parole to them. Sahara apologized unconditionally for the language used by its counsel Rajeev Dhavan.


Karnataka defies SC order,refuses to release cauvery water to TN


Karnataka in virtual defiance of Supreme Court order to release  6,000 cusecs of Cauvery water a day till September 23 to Tamil Nadu, refused to release even single drop of water. Instead  Karnataka Legislative Council on Friday unanimously resolved at a special session that "in this state of acute distress" the government will ensure that no water from the present storage could be drawn, "save and except for meeting the drinking water requirements of the villages and towns in the Cauvery basin and for the entire city of Bengaluru.”


Goa Court acquits two accused in Scarlett Keeling case


In a shocking decision Goa Children's Court acquitted the two accused in the 2008 Scarlett Keeling rape case due to lack of evidence. Goa court citing lack of evidence acquitted Goa natives Samson D'Souza and Placido Carvalho, who'd been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Fiona Mackeown, mother of Scarlett, who was present in the court said she was shocked and said will challenge the court order.
