Battle for Tamil Nadu :: Where is Dayanidhi Maran ?
The Battle for Tamil Nadu Elections has began and DMK Chief M.Karunanidhi's grand nephew Dayanidhi Maran is missing in the election campaigns. This has triggered lots of speculations that the leader himself is keeping a distance from the party.
Already there have been news that there is a rift between Maran and DMK and now this has proved it. Senior journalist TN Gopalan said, "At the moment it is not clear why Maran has not hit the campaign trail.
MK Stalin enjoys a good equation with the Maran brothers but it is said that Kanimozhi and Maran didn’t get along well. However, his absence can only be speculated at the moment. But if one were to guess a reason it could be Maran’s association with the Aircel-Maxis case."
It has to be noted that Kanimozhi is also an accused in 2G Telecom corruption scandal and that haunted Congress Government. Initially there were rumours that after DMK's pathetic loss in 2011, Marans planned to join Congress along with a bunch of party leaders. But it never happened.
