Before the delhi assembly elections, uddhav Thackeray's party shiv sena (UBT) has given a big shock to Congress. shiv sena (UBT) has announced to support Arvind Kejriwal's aam aadmi party (AAP). uddhav faction mp Anil Desai said that we are supporting aam aadmi party in delhi assembly elections because aam aadmi party had supported us in maharashtra elections.

There should be no division of votes - Anil Desai

On congress being an ally in maharashtra and congress contesting against aam aadmi party in delhi, Desai said, "We hope that there is no division of votes in Delhi." Earlier, shiv sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had advised AAP and congress to come together. He said that aam aadmi party and congress fought together in lok sabha, so we could stop Modi, but the country is watching the way free style wrestling is going on in the assembly. He said, "After 4 years, the public will question us. Our enemy is BJP, not congress or AAP. We can take the country forward only if we stay together."

akhilesh yadav also supported AAP

Before shiv sena (UBT), on tuesday (7 January), Samajwadi party President akhilesh yadav had announced to support AAP. He also said that he will share the stage with AAP. shiv sena (UBT) is a part of india Alliance with congress at the national level. At the same time, it is in MVA with congress in Maharashtra. Both the parties have contested lok sabha and assembly elections in Maharashtra. In such a situation, shiv sena (UBT) supporting AAP in delhi can upset Congress. AAP and congress are contesting elections separately in Delhi. Voting will be held on all 70 seats of the national capital on february 5 and the results will be declared on february 8. AAP has been in power here for the last 10 consecutive years.
