Action against person for questioning the credibility of EVM

After the maharashtra assembly election results, questions are being raised again about EVMs. Meanwhile, mumbai Cyber police has registered a case against a person who questioned the credibility of EVM. mumbai Cyber police registered this case on the complaint of maharashtra Chief election Commissioner. According to the information, mumbai Cyber police has registered a criminal case against the person who posted a video on social media and claimed to hack EVM. The election commission has once again reiterated that EVMs cannot be tampered with in any way.

EVM cannot be connected to any network - election Commission

The election commission said, 'EVM is a machine that cannot be connected to any network. Whether it is Wi-Fi, mobile network or even Bluetooth.'' The election commission has said that this is not the first time, even before this whenever questions have been raised on EVM, the election commission has been making it clear that there can be no tampering with EVMs.

A case was also registered in 2019

When the matter reached the supreme court, the supreme court also stamped the fairness of EVMs. Earlier, even after the 2019 elections, when a person sitting abroad had made allegations of tampering with EVMs, during that time too the election commission had lodged a complaint with the police and a case was registered.

In the recent assembly elections in maharashtra, the Mahayuti alliance managed to retain power with a spectacular victory. The election results were declared on 23 November. The majority figure in the 288-member assembly of the state is 145. The Mahayuti won 230 seats. bjp won 132 seats, shiv sena won 57 and ncp won 41 seats. While Mahavikas Aghadi was reduced to 46 seats.
