India's capital delhi is again in the news these days regarding the yamuna river. yamuna being filled with poisonous white foam before Chhath shows how prepared the government machinery is for this. Well, today in this article we will not tell you about government failures, but about where does this white foam come from in the yamuna river and why it is not seen in other rivers.

White foam in Yamuna

Every year before Chhath, when pictures or videos of Delhi's yamuna river go viral, white foam is seen floating everywhere in it. As beautiful as it looks, in reality it is as dangerous and poisonous. Bathing in this water can cause you many types of serious diseases. However, even after this, people who perform Chhath bathe in it and complete their puja. Now we come to our real question that why does this happen only with the yamuna river.

Actually, the number of factories in delhi or its surrounding areas through which yamuna river passes is very high. In such a situation, the chemical waste coming out of them gets mixed in yamuna river without being filtered. Apart from this, the dirty water of the city also gets mixed in yamuna river from many places without being filtered. Due to these reasons, the water of yamuna becomes black and foam starts forming in it due to chemical reaction.

Which special chemical causes foam?

Now the question arises that what is there in these wastes that foam starts forming in the water of Yamuna. According to experts, this happens due to phosphate. Actually, the chemical waste that comes out from factories and the dirty water of the city that falls into yamuna has a very high amount of phosphate. Due to this, white foam is formed in the water of Yamuna.
