Delhi government launches 'Red Light On, Gaadi Off' campaign?

The delhi government is running different campaigns to reduce the rising pollution. In this sequence, Delhi's Environment minister Gopal Rai started the 'Red Light On - Gaadi Off' campaign on Monday. The Environment minister started the campaign from ITO intersection and appealed to the drivers to contribute to reducing pollution by turning off the engine of the vehicle at the red light. During this, Gopal Rai said that the major reason for the increasing pollution in delhi at this time is biomass burning and pollution caused by dust as well as pollution from vehicles. In view of this, the red Light On - Gaadi Off campaign has been started.

Gopal Rai said that the people of delhi have to bear the brunt of pollution coming from outside Delhi. Due to the efforts of the punjab government, the incidents of stubble burning have come down, while the governments of haryana and Uttar Pradesh are not taking any steps in this direction and incidents of stubble burning are continuously happening there.

Gopal Rai said that the delhi government has started a green war room against pollution, has started an anti-dust campaign to control dust pollution and bio-decomposer is being sprayed in 5 thousand acres to melt stubble.
