GMDA’s big action shocked many people
Accordingly Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) took a big action on Thursday. During this, encroachment was removed from the master roads and green belt of Southern Peripheral Road and Sector 49/47 Dividing Road. Giving information, GMDA's district Town Planner RS Bath said that about 60 huts and seven kiosks have been removed from Banjara Bazaar area. During this, people also protested against the action of GMDA.
Perhaps at the same time, another GMDA official said that due to illegal hawkers on the roadside, the problem of crowd on the road often arises. Due to this, action has been taken. About 70 policemen were deployed during the encroachment removal action. Along with this, encroachment was removed with the help of eight bulldozers. He told that about seven kiosks have been demolished. Apart from this, vehicles parked wrongly in front of Park Hospital were also removed from there.
Moreover GMDA officials said that we had received several complaints from the residents of the housing society regarding the illegal Banjara market. After this action has been taken. At the same time, district Town Planner RS Bath said that the campaign will be intensified to make the city roads encroachment free. Apart from this, strict action will be taken against those who encroach again in GMDA areas.
Previously in the month of September, GMDA had launched a campaign to remove encroachment on MG Road. During the campaign, 1.25 km service road was freed from encroachment. Residents of societies located on MG Road had complained several times about illegal hawkers and traffic congestion. To resolve this, GMDA took action, two days before this a survey was conducted to check MG Road.
