The main opposition party in chhattisgarh, congress, on friday started the 'Nyay Yatra' from the state's Balodabazar district, accusing the bjp government of failing to maintain law and order and stop the increasing criminal incidents.

Led by chhattisgarh Pradesh congress Committee President deepak Baij, the yatra was started from Girodpuri, the center of faith of the Satnami community in the state, where more than two thousand congress leaders and workers had gathered. congress leaders said that before starting the yatra, Baij offered prayers at Lord ram and Mata Shabri temple in Shivrinarayan. Apart from this, he offered prayers at Girodpuri Dham. Garlanded the statue of martyr Veer Narayan Singh.

Martyr Veer Narayan Singh was a freedom fighter of the state who made a significant contribution in the freedom struggle of 1857. congress leaders said that the six-day yatra will conclude with a huge public meeting at gandhi Maidan in raipur on october 2 on mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. He said that the purpose of the yatra is to express concern over the safety of people in the state, where incidents of murder, loot, stabbing, crime against women and robbery are happening continuously. people are living in the shadow of fear.

Baij said in a statement that this yatra is a protest against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. During the yatra, we will raise other demands including the release of innocent people arrested in protest against the vandalism of 'Jaitakham' (Vijay Stambh), a sacred symbol worshipped by the Satnami community in amar Gufa (Balodabazar) and filing an FIR against the policemen responsible for the death of prashant Sahu in judicial custody due to police torture in Kabirdham district. He said, "Giroudpuri is the Tapabhoomi of baba Guru Ghasidas, who gave the message of Manke-Manke Ek Saman. He gave the message of unity, equality, harmony in the society." He said that by starting the yatra from here, we wish for brotherhood, unity and crime-free chhattisgarh and safety of every person in the state.
