Ajit Pawar's big claim regarding increasing the MSP...
Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on wednesday said that the central government is positive about increasing the minimum support price (MSP) of soybean and cotton in the state. The government has taken a tough stand to prevent fraud and ensure proper compensation to farmers from crop insurance companies. He said that due to the state's target of large-scale solar power generation, farmers' agricultural pumps will get electricity even during the day.
During a meeting with farmer representatives in South mumbai (State Secretariat), deputy chief minister Pawar said that a delegation of state ministers would meet the Center to seek support price and export permission for soybean and cotton. He said that the stand of both the state and central governments was that farmers should get adequate compensation for their crop loss.
'Proposal to increase MSP for sugarcane under consideration'

A proposal to increase the MSP for sugarcane is under consideration. To prevent farmers from falling prey to fraud by insurance companies, Union Agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken a tough stand and its positive effects will be visible soon. The state has set a target of producing 11,500 MW of solar power. The Finance minister said that agricultural pumps will be allowed to get electricity during the day.
