KTR Questions Telangana investment - Congress Double Standards on 'Adani'
Leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), KT Rama Rao, attacked the congress on Tuesday, accusing it of having "double standards" over the adani issue. ktr made a comparison between the telangana congress government's and the national congress party's views on the adani Group.
His statement was made just after the congress on august 22 declared a statewide protest against the Hindenburg report, which claimed a connection between Sebi and Adani."We at BRS see through their double standards, but we're glad that the congress called for a nationwide protest on august 22 in light of the Hindenburg Report on the Adani-Sebi nexus," ktr said.
"If adani is wrong for telangana, then why and how is he right for India?" he said.Notably, the adani Group and the telangana government signed four agreements in january of this year to spend more than Rs 12,400 crore in a variety of industries.
KTR questioned whether rahul gandhi will call on Congressman and telangana chief minister Revanth reddy to withdraw the adani Group's investment in the state.Or is convenience more important than conviction in this case? ktr said, making fun of Congress. "BRS stands firm for Telangana's future—does Congress?" he said.
On august 10, Hindenburg Research claimed that Madhabi puri Buch, the chairperson of Sebi, and her husband, Dhaval Buch, had investments in foreign monies that were allegedly utilized in the adani money-siphoning case. The accusations set off a political battleground, with the congress and other parties in the india alliance calling for her dismissal and a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation. In contrast, the Opposition was charged by the bjp with being a part of a plot to destabilize the indian economy and cause turmoil.
