Congress got a big victory in the lok sabha elections in punjab despite a tough fight from aam aadmi party (AAP), bjp and Akali Dal. The party won seven out of 13 seats with 26.30 percent votes. However, the figures that are coming now are interesting. congress suffered a setback in Moosa village of late punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala. Here the party stood third. While Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh sought votes for congress in punjab to get justice for his son. Moosa village falls in Sardulgarh assembly constituency of bathinda lok sabha constituency.

Harsimrat Kaur wins from Bathinda

Harsimrat Kaur Badal of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has won for the fourth consecutive time from bathinda seat. This time she defeated Gurmeet Singh by 49656 votes. Harsimrat Kaur got 376558 votes. congress candidate Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu finished third. Gurmeet Singh got 326902 votes and Mohinder Singh got 202011 votes.

Who got how many votes?

According to the indian Express report, out of 2,771 registered voters in Moosa village, 2000 voted. Of them, 703 voted for the Akali Dal, 604 for the aam aadmi party and 495 for the Congress. Gangster-turned-politician Lakha Sidhana got 84 votes, BSP got 27 and bjp got 24 votes. Sidhu Moosewala was murdered in broad daylight on 29 May 2022. Voting was held in punjab on 1 June, two days after Moosewala's second death anniversary. Moosewala contested the february 2022 assembly elections from Mansa assembly constituency on a congress ticket, in this election he data-faced defeat. After this, father Balkaur Singh continued to support the Congress. There was also speculation about Balkaar Singh contesting the lok sabha election.
