In the lok sabha elections, bjp has won eight seats while ally AJSU has got one seat, while JMM has won three and congress has won one seat. On the other hand, if we talk about Kalpana Soren, she has won the assembly by-election on the Gandey seat. He defeated his bjp rival dilip kumar Verma by a margin of 27,149 votes. The Gandey seat fell vacant after the resignation of JMM mla Sarfaraz Ahmed.

hemant Soren was arrested by the ED in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. He was arrested on january 31. He had resigned from his post before the arrest. Regarding Champai Soren's meeting with the former cm in jail, jharkhand bjp spokesperson Pratul Shah Dev said that this government is being run from the jail secretariat and not from the cm secretariat.
